Where does Clemson land in new AP poll after loss to Duke basketball?

Week 15 of the 2025-26 college basketball season was a challenging one for the Clemson Tigers.

Clemson (20-6 overall, 10-3 ACC) suffered a 76-66 home loss to Virginia Tech on Wednesday, then fell 67-54 in a top 25 matchup against the Duke Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday.

Cameron Boozer led Duke with 18 points against Clemson, and Isaiah Evans added 17. Carter Welling led the Tigers with 12 points in the loss at Duke, and RJ Godfrey finished with 10.

The Tigers suffered only their second 0-2 week this season. They had won 13 of 14 games dating back to early December losses to Alabama in Tuscaloosa and BYU at Madison Square Garden entering last week. Saturday’s loss also ended Clemson’s 14-game road winning streak against ACC foes dating to last season.

As a result of the Tigers’ consecutive double-digit losses, Clemson fell out of Monday’s new AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll. Coach Brad Brownell’s team received 55 votes for top 25 consideration, the most of any team ranked outside the poll. Alabama landed one spot above Clemson at No. 25.

New No. 1 in AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll as Michigan, Duke rise

The Michigan Wolverines (24-1) claimed the top spot in Monday’s new AP poll after the Arizona Wildcats (23-2) suffered their first losses of the season. The Houston Cougars (23-2) rose one spot to No. 2, and the Duke Blue Devils (23-2) rose one spot to No. 3 after their win over Clemson.

With Duke the highest-ranked ACC team, the Virginia Cavaliers (22-3) rose one spot to No. 14. North Carolina (20-5) dropped five spots to No. 16 following a 75-66 loss at Miami on Tuesday.

Louisville rose three spots to No. 21 to give the ACC four teams in Monday’s new poll.
