The Wisconsin Badgers pulled off another impressive win on Saturday, beating the No. 10 Michigan State Spartans 92-71 at home, capping off a week with two Top 10 wins.
It’s been a strong last six weeks for the Badgers, who have won nine of their last 11 games, which includes wins over No. 2 Michigan, No. 8 Illinois, and No. 10 Michigan State. Sneakily, the Badgers have improved to 18-7 on the year and 10-4 in the Big Ten, which is good for fourth in the conference.

60 days ago, this Badgers team wasn’t like the one we see today. They had come off some tough losses in the non-conference schedule and were non-competitive in ranked games against BYU (98-70) and Nebraska (90-60). Heading into January with zero Quad 1 wins, the Badgers season looked disappointing, especially after an ugly blowout against Purdue in a game that got busted wide open in the second half.
But Wisconsin put together one of the most impressive wins of the season in a 91-88 road win over Michigan, and things have really turned around from there. With the Badgers getting hot recently, are they a dark horse for the Big Ten title?

Wisconsin is currently three games out of first place in the Big Ten, and they have the tiebreaker over Michigan with the regular-season win. When you look at the Badgers remaining schedule, they’ve got two tough games coming up against Ohio State (road) and Iowa (home). Those could be two Quad 1 opportunities.
After that, it’s a West Coast road trip to face Oregon, which has gone 1-12 in the Big Ten, and Washington, which has gone 4-10 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin comes back home to face 3-10 Maryland before ending its season at Purdue, which will be a very difficult game.
