Arkansas basketball’s Karter Knox, D.J. Wagner doubtful to face LSU

Arkansas basketball’s Karter Knox and D.J. Wagner are doubtful to face LSU, according to the initial SEC Availability Report.

The No. 21 Razorbacks (17-6, 7-3 SEC) were without both players during an 88-68 victory against Mississippi State over the weekend. John Calipari’s squad is searching for a third consecutive road win when it travels to play the Tigers (14-9, 2-8) on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Calipari confirmed after the win over the Bulldogs that Knox is dealing with a knee injury, while Wagner is fighting through an ankle ailment.

Knox has started 18 of the Hogs’ 23 games this season. He is averaging 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Wagner started the first 18 games of the season, but he’s come off the bench in the last four. He’s averaging 7.4 points and 2.5 assists per game.

Prior to their absences, Arkansas relied on an eight-man rotation, but Calipari played freshman Isiah Sealy for 15 minutes against Mississippi State. The Springdale native rewarded his coach’s trust by scoring six points and blocking three shots. He provided quality minutes as the Hogs’ depth reached a new low on the season.

Meleek Thomas and Trevon Brazile both played all 40 minutes in the victory, while Darius Acuff Jr. played 38 minutes.

After LSU, Arkansas returns home for a key SEC rematch with Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 14. The Tigers beat the Hogs by 22 points in early January.
