Indiana men’s basketball beat Wisconsin 78-77 in overtime on Saturday afternoon at home in Assembly Hall thanks to some strong play from Lamar Wilkerson in the closing seconds of regulation and the extra period.
It was an odd game all around for the Hoosiers who saw the lead slip in regulation before making just enough plays in overtime to steal a win. Here’s five key numbers from the matchup:

Indiana went just 5-22 from 3-point range on the game. For a team built on scoring from beyond the line, that’s a number that really should’ve led to a loss. For the Hoosiers to manage a win, no matter how it happened, after that showing is pretty encouraging as March draws closer.
Sam Alexis stepped up when Indiana needed him most, scoring 19 points on 9-10 from the field. The Badgers running Indiana’s 3-point threats away from the line opened up some opportunities for Alexis, who made the most of them and then some. He made some key shots in the second half to keep pace as the lead began to slip.
Nick Dorn’s slump continued as he finished scoreless, going 0-4 from the field including 0-3 from 3-point range. He was the catalyst for Indiana’s recent turnaround that’s strengthened its NCAA Tournament positioning, but others stepped up around him on Saturday to nab the win. The Hoosiers are going to need the best version of Dorn going forward, the staff has to find ways to keep him confident when he gets the ball.
Conor Enright dished out six assists without a single turnover on the game. The offense has some of the best flow on the season when he’s running it as Indiana has turned a few things around as of late.
Indiana tied Wisconsin’s effort on the glass with each team bringing down 37 rebounds. It was a team effort as Tucker DeVries lead the way with eight and Alexis pulled down 7 while Wilkerson and Enright each got four. The Hoosiers don’t have a player who can average ten rebounds per game, so they need that kind of team effort to contend on the glass.
