Illinois freshman guard Keaton Wagler made college basketball history on Saturday during his team’s 88-82 over fourth-ranked Purdue.
Wagler scored the most points ever by a visiting player in Mackey Arena, where Purdue plays, with 46. He scored nine 3-pointers and went 13-for-17 overall in field goals. Purdue fans will have nightmares about Wagler for a while.

Wagler is a four-star recruit from Shawnee, Kansas, who played at Shawnee Mission Northwest in high school, where he won two state championships. He’s majoring in kinesiology, but an NBA career could be in his future if he keeps playing like this.
What a remarkable performance from the Illinois freshman. We can’t wait to see him playing in March Madness.
It’s Wagler’s world on Saturday.
