The Auburn Tigers will look to gain a third consecutive SEC win when they travel to face the Florida Gators on Saturday. Auburn enters the game with an overall record of 12-7 and 3-3 in the SEC. The No. 16 Gators have an overall record of 14-5, and they are tied with Texas A&M for first place in the SEC at 5-1. This is also a rematch from last spring’s Final Four, where the Gators defeated the Tigers on their way to a National Championship win.
The Auburn Tigers will enter this contest as the underdog. KenPom gives Auburn just a 19% chance at victory and has projected an 86-76 victory for the Gators. Florida has one of the best front courts in all of college basketball. Their three leading scorers all reside up front with Thomas Haugh (16.9), Alex Condon (14.1), and center Reuben Chinyelu (12.0). Auburn has struggled this season against teams that have an advantage in the paint. It will be pivotal for KeShawn Murphy to stay out of foul trouble in this game.

For Auburn to pick up an upset victory, they will need to rediscover their three-point shot. Over the previous two games against South Carolina and Ole Miss, Auburn has made just 4 of 36 three-point field goals despite winning both games. Keyshawn Hall has been struggling as well, shooting 31% over the last three games and averaging just 12.3 points per game. This was after two straight games with 32 points versus Texas A&M and Arkansas. He did score 19 in the win over Ole Miss, with 11 of those points coming from the free-throw line.
Of course, this is a rematch from last season’s Final Four, where the Gators ended the Tigers’ historic season 79-73. While the Gators do have some familiar faces, the only Auburn player remaining from that game is Tahaad Pettiford. He struggled in that game with just seven points on 1 of 6 shooting. Haugh scored 12 points for the Gators off the bench. Saturday’s game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast by ESPN.
