The Ohio State basketball team got a big conference win over UCLA on Saturday afternoon by a score of 86-74. The Bruins came into the game riding a two-game win streak, but the Buckeyes would not be denied in the Jimmy Jackson Scarlet throwback uniforms. Jake Diebler’s club led from start to finish, taking a six-point lead into halftime after a John Mobley Jr. buzzer beating three pointer ended the first half. Ohio State would extend its six-point lead with an 11-point run to open the second half and led by as many as 19 points.
Speaking of Mobley Jr, the sharpshooter was dialed in from deep. Mobley led the Buckeyes with a new career high of 28 points, making 6 of 12 from beyond the arc. He was also perfect from the charity stripe, making all six of his free throw attempts. Devin Royal added another 22 points with a perfect three for three from the three-point line to go along with nine rebounds, while Bruce Thornton contributed 21 points in the win.
