Florida basketball surges back into AP Top 25 after pair of SEC wins

A pair of top-25 victories this week vaulted the Florida Gators back into the men’s college basketball AP Top 25, landing them at No. 19.

A 92-77 win over the Georgia Bulldogs and a 91-67 triumph over the Tennessee Volunteers — both at home — was just what the doctor ordered for Todd Golden’s team after a tripping in their Southeastern Conference opener at the Missouri Tigers. The former was ranked No. 18 last week before their loss in Gainesville, while the latter stood at No. 21.

After 10 weeks of play, Florida is still in the thick of things despite having already amassed more losses than during last season’s championship run. Take a look below at how the Gators’ peers in the SEC fared.

SEC schools in AP Top 25 after Week 10

With Florida’s return to the top 25, the Southeastern Conference now has six schools representing the league among the nation’s top teams. The SEC is headlined by the Vanderbilt Commodores once again, who inched up a spot to crack the top 10 at No. 10.

Next up are the Arkansas Razorbacks, who fell two spots to No. 17, followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide, who fell five spots to No. 18, and Florida, which leaped back into the top 25 at No. 19. Georgia slipped down three spots to No. 21, while Tennessee also slid three spots but remained among the upper echelon at No. 24.

The Texas A&M Aggies (23) and Auburn Tigers (14) also received votes this week.
