Arizona State men’s basketball has good shot to snap 4-game skid

Arizona State men’s basketball’s losing streak is now at four games. If the Sun Devils can’t snap their skid Saturday, Jan. 10, it could be a while. The next two contests after this are against top 10 teams.

The good news is that this is one of the more winnable games on the schedule, as Kansas State has had similar struggles.

About the Wildcats: Kansas State has lost its past two, although they were against top 10 teams, Arizona (101-76) and BYU (83-73). Junior guard P.J. Haggerty (22.7 ppg, 5 rpg), a transfer from Memphis, is by far the team’s best player. He was the AAC Player of the Year and a consensus second-team All-American a year ago, finishing third in the nation in scoring. After that, there is balance with sophomore guard David Castillo (12.9 ppg), junior guard Abdi Bashir (12.6 ppg) and senior guard Nate Johnson (11.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg).

About the Sun Devils: ASU is coming off a 104-76 loss at BYU and has given up 199 points in its past two games, its worst two-point total allowed all season. Yes, BYU is a team that has done that to a lot of opponents this season. ASU has struggled from 3-point range in this losing streak, making just 21 of 98 tries…
