Auburn basketball will remain just outside the USA TODAY Coaches Poll heading into the new year.
This Tigers team has been through a tough nonconference slate this season, facing five teams in the top-25. One more game though for the Tigers before the new year and conference play begins. Auburn’s record is currently 8-4, with their four losses coming from top-10 opponents in No. 1 Michigan, No. 2 Arizona, No. 6 Purdue, and No. 8 Houston.

Auburn is behind seven other SEC programs on this week’s poll (No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 15 Alabama, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 20 Tennessee, No. 22 Florida, No. 24 Georgia, Kentucky). The SEC continues to be one of the best college basketball conferences from last year.
This week the Tigers are scheduled to play tonight at 9 P.M. CST against the Queens University Royals at home. Auburn is a 24.5 point favorite over Queens. We will see how the Tigers defense responds against a weaker opponent after a disastrous performance against Purdue. The game will be broadcasted on SEC Network.
