FAMU basketball offering free entry vs Albany State. What you need to do

For the first time in over a month, Florida A&M men’s basketball will play a home game.

On Monday, Dec. 15, the Rattlers (1-5) host NCAA Division II opponent Albany State Golden Rams (2-5) in a non-conference game added to FAMU’s schedule.

FAMU will play on campus at the Al Lawson Center for the first time since losing its home opener 92-72 against Kennesaw State on Nov. 8.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

FAMU is offering free entry for Educators Night to honor teachers, staff, and families from the greater Leon County area. All educators and school personnel will receive free admission with a valid school-issued ID.

Additionally, FAMU is inviting fans to participate in the Rattler Basketball Christmas Campaign, which will continue throughout December.

Supporters can bring toys, jackets, gloves, or nonperishable foods to benefit families in the Tallahassee community.

Donors will receive free entry at the door.

According to Ticketmaster, FAMU basketball tickets cost $12.80.

The Rattlers are fresh off winning the inaugural HBCU Hoops Invitational Championship, beating Florida Memorial 60-58 at Orlando’s ESPN Wide World of Sports on Dec. 6. It was 1993 Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward’s first victory as FAMU’s head men’s basketball coach.

Meanwhile, Albany State has won two consecutive games, last beating Edward Waters 69-66 in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

Albany State is one of the five opponents FAMU faces this week.
