Where Auburn basketball ranks in KenPom after Arizona loss

Auburn basketball escaped its challenging week with a 1-1 record by taking down NC State at home before losing to No. 3 Arizona on the road by 29 points.

Keyshawn Hall and Kevin Overton powered the Tigers to a 10-point win over NC State last Wednesday, which helped the SEC earn another series victory in the ACC/SEC Challenge. Overton posted a career-high 29 points while Hall scored 28 points and secured 10 rebounds. Tahaad Pettiford also had a career game against Arizona by scoring 30 points, becoming the first Tiger to score at least 30 points since Johni Broome scored 34 points against Alabama in last season’s finale. However, Arizona overpowered Auburn by shooting 61% from the field en route to a 97-68 win in Tucson.

Auburn gets a break of sorts this week by not playing a midweek game and will return to action Saturday to face Chattanooga in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Auburn is down nine spots to No. 29 as we head into a new week. The Tigers are tied with Indiana with a NET rating of +19.84, and trail seven other SEC programs in the category, including Georgia, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
