Vote for the Ivy Tech Journal & Courier Athlete of Week for Dec. 1-6

LAFAYETTE — This edition of the Ivy Tech Journal & Courier Male and Female Athletes of the Week for Dec. 2-6 focuses on the IU Health Hoops Classic and wrestling meets across the state of Indiana.

But which among these athletes will earn the admiration from readers?

Male athletes of the week candidates

Brady Henchon, basketball, Harrison – Henchon was voted the IU Health Hoops Classic MVP for his defensive performances and rebounding as Harrison took the tourney championship 41-40 over Lafayette Jeff last Saturday.

Joseph Mendoza, wrestling, Benton Central – Mendoza, a 2025 state qualifier won the 120-pound title at the at Mike Atwood Memorial Invitational last Saturday.

Brady Bishop, basketball, West Central – Bishop sank a program record nine 3-pointers and scored 34 points, grabbed seven rebounds with four steals in an 80-21 win last Friday against Argos. Bishop followed with a 22-point performance against Culver Community last Saturday.

Tramel Quadhammer, wrestling, Harrison – Quadhammer captured the 190-pound title at the Mike Atwood Memorial Invitational last Saturday.

Johnovan Smith, basketball, Crawfordsville – Smith scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a loss against Lebanon 65-45 last Friday.

Dakoda Willoughby, wrestling, Fountain Central – Willoughby won the 144-pound title at the Mike Atwood Memorial Invitational last Saturday.

Chase Winkler, basketball, Frontier – Winkler led Frontier to a decisive victory over Carroll 63-48 last Friday. Winkler scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Frontier which has started 3-0.

Justin Hettinger, wrestling, Harrison – Hettinger captured the 157-pound title at the Mike Atwood Memorial Invitational last Saturday.

Tate Goyer, basketball, Twin Lakes – Goyer scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in an 83-70…
