Scoring in the first 12 seconds a priority for IU coach Darian DeVries
Indiana basketball head coach Darian DeVries discusses his style of basketball.
Malik Reneau is heading home.
The three-year Indiana basketball player announced Wednesday on social media that he will play for Miami (Fla.) next season. The Miami native is joining a Hurricanes team that finished last in the Atlantic Coast Conference and recently named Jai Lucas coach.
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 in an injury-interrupted junior season, after a sophomore season in which he had career bests of 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 33.3% 3-point shooting.
The Hoosiers didn’t make the NCAA tournament in either season, and he announced his intention to transfer shortly after Darian DeVries was named coach.
He came off the bench behind Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson as a freshman, averaging 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds for an NCAA tournament team.
