Another former four-star recruit is joining the Colorado State men’s basketball team.

Guard Jase Butler is expected to transfer to the Rams from Washington. His transfer was first reported by 247Sports and ESPN.

The 6-foot-4 Butler appeared in 18 games off the bench for Washington in 2024-25 in his freshman season. He scored 1.9 points per game with a high of eight in a game against Nevada.

Butler was a four-star recruit out of The Branson School in San Francisco and an ESPN top-100 recruit. CSU was one of the teams recruiting Butler before he chose Washington. The lefty was named Bay Area Player of the Year as a senior.

Butler is considered a versatile guard who can score at all three levels and create for others.

He’s the second former four-star recruit to commit to the Rams this offseason, with forward Carey Booth transferring from Illinois.
