Johnson answered the call when star forward Johni Broome exited the game with an elbow injury.
One of the underrated stories of the college basketball season has been the development of Auburn’s reserve forward Chaney Johnson. This season, he has averaged 9.2 points per game. That is an increase over his 4.7 average from last season. On Sunday, he scored clutch baskets for the Tigers after Johni Broome left the game due to injury. Johnson scored eight points in the game, but six of those points were after the injury to Broome. All of those points were pivotal for the Tigers as they halted any comeback attempt from the Spartans. It was proof of the hard work done by Johnson, and the improvements he has made this season.
“All glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has blessed me with such a wonderful opportunity, I can’t take it for granted,” Johnson said. “That’s why I work so hard. I just want to be…
