As the Richard Pitino era is set to officially get underway with a formal introduction Tuesday, former Xavier head coach Sean Miller is assembling his staff at his new position at the University of Texas.

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Miller is bringing former Xavier assistants Adam Cohen, David Miller and Ryan Anderson to his staff at Texas, along with Ryan Reynolds to serve as director of basketball operations for the Longhorns.

Reynolds, a Xavier graduate, worked under Thad Matta and Miller at Xavier.

Miller’s right-hand man for the majority of his coaching career, Reynolds was the Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Xavier after following Miller to Arizona.

Cohen was the associated head coach at Stanford before joining Miller in the same role at Xavier in 2022. Cohen had previous stops at Vanderbilt, Harvard and Rice.

David Miller started as a student manager under Miller at Arizona before serving as a graduate assistant and director of player development. He later served as director of basketball operations at UC Santa Barbara before returning to Arizona with a focus on international recruiting. He first became an assistant at San Jose State before coming to Xavier.

Cohen and David Miller were both named to the “50 Most Impactful High Major Assistants” list by Silver Waves Media in 2023.

Anderson played three seasons at Boston College before transferring to Arizona to play under Miller for the 2015-16 season. He was a first-team All-Pac 12 selection after averaging 15.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.

After a professional career overseas, Anderson spent one season as a graduate manager for Tommy Lloyd’s Arizona Wildcats before joining Xavier as the director of recruiting.
