NEWARK — Alabama basketball guard Mark Sears, the SEC’s Preseason Player of the Year, has more than lived up to expectations this season for the Crimson Tide. On Saturday night, Sears will lead UA into an Elite Eight NCAA Tournament battle against East Region No. 1 seed Duke, led by star Cooper Flagg. A floor general who made 10 three-pointers Thursday in a rout of BYU, Sears is dangerous offensively from long range or as a penetrator. Flagg, meanwhile, has been an ACC revelation this season as one of the top players in the nation in his first year with the Blue Devils. An effective inside scorer and top-notch interior passer, Flagg can also has the shooting range to step outside the 3-point line.
