Rick Barnes previews Tennessee basketball vs Kentucky in Sweet 16
Tennessee basketball plays Kentucky in the Sweet 16 on Friday in Indianapolis in the NCAA Tournament.
March Madness continues Thursday with the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
As substantial as the first two rounds of the tournament can seem in the first weekend, the field of 16 remaining teams will be cut down to a Final Four by the end of the week.
Tennessee is the Sweet 16 for the third straight season and the fourth time in the Rick Barnes era. The Vols face Kentucky on Friday in Indianapolis; UT has never reached the Final Four, while Kentucky has not made the Final Four since 2015.
The Kentucky-Tennessee winner will face the winner of Purdue and Houston on Sunday in the Elite Eight. The Cougars (last in the Final Four in 2021) and Boilermakers (national runner-up last season) each have a strong recent record in the NCAA Tournament but no national titles.
