Clemson men’s basketball is set to lose another player to the transfer portal.

According to reports, forward Chauncey Wiggins has decided to enter his name into the portal, making him the third Clemson player to do so since the team’s season ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He joins forward Asa Thomas and guard Del Jones in seeking new opportunities.

Wiggins played a key role for the Tigers this past season, averaging 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-10, 216-pound junior appeared in all 34 games, starting 26, and averaged 23.6 minutes per contest. He shot 43.8 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from three-point range, providing Clemson with a versatile scoring presence.

His role had steadily grown over his three years with the program. During the 2023-24 season, Wiggins played in all 36 games, including 18 starts, as Clemson made a run to the Elite Eight. He averaged 17.7 minutes per game, contributing 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds while shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from beyond the arc. As a freshman, he appeared in 27 games and averaged 8.9 minutes per contest, posting 2.4 points and 0.9 rebounds per game.

A native of Grayson, Georgia, Wiggins was rated a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and ranked No. 183 overall in the country by the 247Sports Composite. He played his high school basketball at Grayson High School, where he was a teammate of current Clemson forward Ian Schieffelin. Wiggins originally chose Clemson over offers from NC State, Georgia, South Florida, and Maryland.

With his departure, the Tigers will have another roster spot to fill as they prepare for next season.
