The next stop for the No. 2 seed Alabama Crimson Tide on their 2025 March Madness journey takes them to Newark, N.J., for a matchup with the No. 6 seed BYU Cougars in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament Thursday.

The NCAA and its television partners at CBS and TNT Sports have announced broadcast assignments and commentator pairings for this week’s Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups. The crew of Brian Anderson (play-by-play) and Jim Jackson (analyst) will have the TV call of Alabama vs. BYU. Allie LaForce will report from the sidelines.

The Crimson Tide and Cougars will tip at 6:09 p.m. CT from Prudential Center. The game will be televised on CBS.

For Alabama fans, Anderson’s voice will sound pretty familiar. He was the play-by-play voice during the Crimson Tide’s run to the Final Four last year, calling Alabama’s thrilling 89-87 upset win over No. 1 seed North Carolina, as well as their 89-82 victory over the Clemson Tigers in the Elite Eight. Anderson has called NCAA Tournament games for TNT Sports (previously Turner Sports) and CBS since 2012.

Alabama (27-8) advanced to its third straight Sweet 16 and fourth in the past five years with a 80-66 win over No. 7 seed Saint Mary’s in the second round on Sunday in Cleveland. Six Alabama players finished in double figures, including Chris Youngblood with 13. Grant Nelson had 12 points to go with eight rebounds in 28 minutes.

Mark Sears and Aden Holloway also finished with 12, and Clifford Omoruyi and Mouhamed Dioubate both added 10 apiece as Alabama improved to 4-0 in the round of 32 under coach Nate Oats.

BYU (26-9) defeated the No. 3 seed Wisconsin Badgers 91-88 on Saturday night in Denver behind Richie Saunders’ 25 points. The Cougars got a last-second stop against Wisconsin star John Tonje, who finished with 37 points.

Alabama is looking to advance to the Elite Eight for only the third time in program history. A win over BYU would give the Crimson Tide a matchup in the East Region final with either No. 1 seed Duke or No. 4…
