The good news about the Georgia Bulldogs’ 2024-2025 college basketball season is that UGA made it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015. The bad news is that Georgia drew Gonzaga in March Madness and fell behind 27-3 before eventually losing 89-68.
Changes happens fast in college basketball. The NCAA transfer portal opens on March 24 and closes on April 22. Over the past two years, head coach Mike White and Georgia had had 10 transfers leave via the portal. During the same time frame, Georgia has added 10 transfers. Newell led Georgia in scoring (15.4 points per game) and rebounding (6.9 rebounds per game). He scored 20 points in UGA’s March Madness defeat to Gonzaga.
