Vanderbilt basketball opens March Madness with Friday’s first-round matchup against 7-seed Saint Mary’s in Cleveland.

The Commodores (20-12) are in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017 in coach Mark Byington’s first season.

Saint Mary’s (28-5) won the WCC regular season title before losing to Gonzaga in the WCC Tournament final last week.
