PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Kansas basketball saw its season end Thursday with a 79-72 loss against Arkansas in the 2025 men’s NCAA tournament.

The Jayhawks (21-13) entered as the No. 7 seed in the West region, but couldn’t get by the No. 10-seed Razorbacks (21-13). Although KU recovered from a poor start to the second half and held the lead late in regulation, it faded as Arkansas went on a run for the win. It marks a third-straight season in which Kansas couldn’t emerge from the first weekend of the NCAA tournament and reach a Sweet 16.

So, after the defeat, players in the locker room were understandably emotional with the outcome. A season that began with so much promise ended far sooner than expected. Some just played the final games of their college careers.
