It was a tough way to go out in the Big Ten Tournament.

Michigan State basketball came up short in the final seconds against Wisconsin to lose in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans missed a pair of game-winning three-point attempts in the final seconds to lose by the final score of 77-74.

Spartans head coach Tom Izzo, star guard Jase Richardson and starting point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. spoke to the media after the game. One of the key talking points after the game was making the key little plays that ultimately change close games in March.

“Just the little things that or lose you games,” Fears said when asked about sliver linings from the loss. “Down the stretch we didn’t do what we need to do to win the game. It was the little things, the small possessions. That is what matters most, especially around this time (of the year).”
