Louisville basketball: Pat Kelsey discusses ‘magical’ senior day game

Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey discusses the special day honoring the senior class at the KFC Yum! Center after beating the Stanford Cardinal.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After back-to-back seasons of finishing dead last in the ACC, Louisville basketball has the chance to go from worst to first today at the Spectrum Center.

Standing between Pat Kelsey’s No. 2-seeded Cardinals and the program’s first conference tournament championship since 2014: top-seeded Duke, the consensus No. 1 team in the country.

This is a rematch of the ACC opener on Dec. 8; the Blue Devils rallied from a 14-point deficit with 8:36 to play in the first half and emerged from the KFC Yum! Center with a 76-65 victory. But coach Jon Scheyer will be without two players, freshman phenom Cooper Flagg and junior forward Maliq Brown, after they suffered ankle and shoulder injuries, respectively, against No. 8 Georgia Tech during Thursday’s quarterfinal round.

Here’s what you need to know to follow today’s game from home:

U of L and Duke are scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. today inside the Spectrum Center.
