Louisville basketball bracketology 2025: What seed is UofL in NCAA Tournament projections?

[ad_1]

This time next week, we’ll know where Louisville basketball is headed for its first NCAA Tournament game since 2019.

Pat Kelsey’s No. 13 Cardinals (25-6, 18-2 ACC) can boost their March Madness résumé by making a deep run at the ACC Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Having earned the No. 2 seed and a double bye in the conference tournament, U of L begins the postseason at 7 p.m. Thursday, when it will play either No. 7 Stanford No. 15 California. If Kelsey’s team becomes the program’s first since joining the league in 2014 to reach the semifinal round, it’ll play either No. 3 Clemson, No. 6 SMU or No. 14 Syracuse at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Before the Cards take the court at the Spectrum Center, let’s take a look at their March Madness nitty gritties and where they stand in the latest round of bracketology:

Louisville ranked 23rd in the NET as of Tuesday. Here’s its record by the all-important quadrants:

Quad 1: 4-5

Quad 2: 9-1

Quad 3: 6-0

Quad 4: 6-0

As of Tuesday, the Cards were also 19th in Wins Above Bubble (3.83); which reflects how much better a team is than those teetering between making and missing the NCAA Tournament cut. The formulas powering EvanMiya.com had their resume as the 15th best in the country.

Going off BartTorvik.com’s projections Tuesday, U of L had defeated only four teams in the field of 68: Clemson, a No. 7 seed; West Virginia, a No. 9 seed; North Carolina, a No. 11 seed; and Indiana, a No. 12 seed. SMU was among the first four out, and Wake Forest was among the next four out.

Torvik on Tuesday had Louisville as a top No. 8 seed, with a 100% chance of making the tournament. These were the teams it had as Nos. 6 and 7 seeds, in descending order: Oregon, Missouri, Marquette, Michigan, Clemson, BYU, Saint Mary’s and Gonzaga.
