USA TODAY Sports Bracketology projects the Texas Longhorns will miss NCAA Tournament

The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team suffered what could be a disastrous defeat Saturday night at home in Moody Center to the Oklahoma Sooners. In a battle where both teams are fighting for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, it was OU that came out on top 76-72.

The loss will probably cost UT a spot in the NCAA Tournament field. Missing out on March Madness may also cost head coach Rodney Terry his job. Now, USA TODAY Sports all but confirms Longhorns fans worst nightmares.

Bracketology by USA TODAY’s Eddie Timanus projects the Longhorns will miss the postseason. Texas is forecast as one of the last teams out of the field. Boise State, Colorado State and North Carolina join UT as the “first four out.” Oklahoma, Ohio State, Xavier and Indiana are the “last four in.”

Possibly the worst part of the Texas season has been a waste of SEC Freshman of the Year Tre Johnson. Johnson will most likely go pro after the season barely leaving a mark on the 40 Acres.
