Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament bracket set

[ad_1]

After a compelling and somewhat surprising regular season, the Big Ten Basketball Tournament field is set. “Only” the top 15 teams in the standing make the field and if you are one of the bottom five, good luck because those teams will have to begin play on Wednesday and face the uphill climb of winning five games in five days to hoist the trophy, but hey, at least they have a ticket to play the game.

On the flip side of that, the teams that finished the standings in the top four get a double bye and won’t have to step foot on the court in Indianapolis until Friday, meaning it’s just a three-game deal to have confetti fall on their heads. Michigan State is the No. 1 overall seed as the regular-season champions followed by Maryland (2), Michigan (3), and UCLA (4).

If you are a fan of Ohio State — and if you are reading this website, there’s a good chance you are — the Buckeyes are a part of the action on Day 1 as the No. 10 seed and will take on No. 15 seed Iowa Wednesday. The teams left out of the tournament as the last three in the standings (some via tiebreaker) are Northwestern, Nebraska, Penn State, and Washington.

Here’s a look at the rest of the bracket in what should be one whale of a tournament.

We will have analysis and reaction as all of this March Madness begins in earnest with the Big Ten Tournament and how Ohio State fares once things tip off on Wednesday and beyond.
