Where Alabama sits in latest USA TODAY Sports’ Coaches Poll after win vs. Auburn

Coming off what likely their most challenging week of the season, the Alabama Crimson Tide’s latest ranking in the USA TODAY Sports’ Men’s College Basketball Coaches Poll has now been revealed.

Despite a 93-91 overtime win over the top-ranked Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon, the Crimson Tide did not move in the latest update Monday, staying put in the No. 8 spot. This is likely due to the fact that Alabama also fell this past week as well, losing Wednesday night at home to the Florida Gators by a final score of 99-94.

The No. 8 ranked Crimson Tide officially concluded the regular season this past week at 24-7 overall, as well as 13-5 in SEC action to finish third in the conference’s standings. Because of this, Alabama is also slotted in as the No. 3 seed in the SEC Tournament later this week, which is set to begin Wednesday, Mar. 12.

Alabama will not play however until Friday, Mar. 14 in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals against either the Kentucky Wildcats, Georgia Bulldogs, or Oklahoma Sooners.
