BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball will face Oregon in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. The game will tip off at noon on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The No. 9 Hoosiers (19-12) secured a first-round bye with a 66-60 win over Ohio State in their regular-season finale. Their game against the No. 8 Ducks (22-8) will be only nine days removed from when the teams faced off in Eugene.

Oregon basketball turned its season around with current 7-game win streak
Oregon’s five-game losing streak from Jan. 25 to Feb. 8 was the program’s longest losing streak since the 2010-11 season. Those struggles threatened to overshadow the quality wins the Ducks picked up over Texas A&M and Alabama during their non-conference schedule.
They avoided becoming a bubble team by putting together a seven-game winning streak — one of the longest current winning streaks in the Power Four — to close out the regular season.
“I think the connectivity and the brotherhood we have right now is at an all-time high,” TJ Bamba said recently.

Dana Altman knows how to win in the month of March
Oregon’s 80-73 overtime win over Washington on Sunday was the team’s 75th win in March since coach Dana Altman took over in 2010-11 beating out blue bloods like North Carolina (72), Kansas (71), Kentucky (70) and Duke (68).
Altman built that .712 win percentage by reaching the Sweet Sixteen five times during his tenure and winning four Pac-12 conference tournament titles.
Oregon won the Pac-12 tournament last year as a No. 4 seed that wasn’t expected to make the NCAA Tournament. They clinched an automatic bid by beating UCLA, Arizona, and Colorado on consecutive nights.
