Florida basketball ranked No. 4 in end-of-season USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

The Florida Gators basketball team ended the 2024-25 regular season with a pair of conference wins against Alabama and Ole Miss and is ranked No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll heading into the SEC Tournament.

Florida’s big road win over Alabama all but guaranteed upward movement in the poll this week, especially with Tennessee losing to Ole Miss in the same week. The Crimson Tide managed to upset Auburn on the road, complicating things a bit, but Alabama did not move in the poll this week while Florida moved within 16 points of overtaking the Tigers.

Florida appears poised to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament with a two-round bye in the conference tournament weekend. Potential matchups with both Alabama and Auburn loom in the semifinal and final rounds this weekend, with Selection Sunday coming later in the day following the SEC Championship Game.

SEC schools in Coaches Poll top 25

The same seven Southeastern Conference schools remain ranked this week in the Coaches Poll. The Auburn Tigers and Florida Gators lead the way at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, followed by the Tennessee Volunteers, who are tied at No. 6 with the Michigan State Spartans, and No. 8-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Texas A&M Aggies own the No. 16 spot, and the Kentucky Wildcats check in at No. 19 this week. Rounding out the group are the Missouri Tigers at No. 22, with both Mississippi programs — the Ole Rebels (9) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (4) — earning votes outside of the top 25.
