Cooper Flagg leads ACC awards for Duke basketball in 2025 season

Duke basketball’s Cooper Flagg is the ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

The ACC announced its awards and all-ACC teams for the 2024-25 season on Monday evening, a day before the 72nd edition of the conference tournament begins at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The conference was formed in 1953.

Flagg, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, has lived up to the hype as one of the elite players in the history of college basketball. As an 18-year-old freshman, Flagg leads the Blue Devils (28-3, 19-1 ACC) in points (602), rebounds (235), assists (131), steals (47) and blocks (39). He’s on pace to become the first freshman in Division I history to lead a team in every major statistic.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Maine is averaging 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Flagg is the front-runner to win National Player of the Year.
