NORMAN — OU super senior forward Sam Godwin has been ruled out for the Sooners’ road contest Saturday at Texas, according to the SEC’s availability report released Friday night.
Godwin exited Wednesday’s home game against No. 19-ranked Missouri after injuring his knee. He suffered the injury after a hard fall with 5:32 remaining in the first half. Godwin had a team-high 12 points and hadn’t missed a shot in 11 minutes prior to his departure.
He returned to the bench in the second half with a brace and ice pack on his right leg. It’s been mostly a struggle for Godwin this season but he entered the Missouri game 15 for 16 from the field over the past three games and averaging 12 points and over six rebounds in that span.
Godwin has made his last 19 field-goal attempts and has started every game this season.
The Sooners (18-12, 5-12 SEC) and Longhorns (17-13, 6-11) tip at 7 p.m. inside Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
