NORMAN — Despite securing perhaps its best win of the season, OU men’s basketball remains in a tight race for one of the NCAA tournament’s final spots, according to most bracketology experts.
The Sooners defeated No. 19 Missouri 96-84 on Wednesday night after back-to-back close losses last week to Kentucky and Mississippi.
OU ranks 50th in the NET rankings and 41st in KenPom. A win Saturday over fellow bubble team, Texas, might put the Sooners back on the right side of the bubble entering the SEC tournament.
Head coach Porter Moser is aiming to make the tournament for the first time in his four seasons at OU. The Sooners were the first team out of the field last season.
OU boasts five Quad 1 wins but 10 Quad 1 losses. The Sooners own a road win over Arkansas, a bubble team that ranks higher than OU by most projections.
