ACC basketball power rankings

1. Duke

Kon Knueppel has been on fire lately, averaging 16.6 points and shooting 52.4% from 3-point range over the past five games. The Blue Devils are a virtual lock for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

2. Louisville

A shorthanded Cardinals team has leaned the past two games on Chucky Hepburn and Terrence Edwards Jr., who scored 111 of Louisville’s 164 points in wins against Pitt and Cal.

3. Clemson

With a victory Wednesday at Boston College, Clemson tied a program record with 25 regular-season wins. The 17 ACC wins for Brad Brownell’s team are already a program record.

4. North Carolina

North Carolina hasn’t beaten a team ranked higher than 89th in the NCAA’s NET rankings during its six-game win streak, but a victory Saturday against Duke or a lengthy run in the ACC tournament should be enough to get UNC in the field.

6. SMU

SMU went 2-3 over a five-game stretch without injured leading scorer Boopie Miller, a run that could ultimately keep them from the NCAA Tournament.

7. Stanford

Stanford squandered a nine-point lead with 8:30 remaining in a loss at Notre Dame that snapped a three-game win streak.
