STORRS, Conn. – The Marquette men’s basketball team plays its final road game of the regular season against Connecticut at Gampel Pavilion on Wednesday night.

The matchup has implications for seeding in next week’s Big East tournament in New York. The 20th-ranked Golden Eagles (22-7, 13-5 Big East) are a game ahead of the Huskies (20-9, 12-6) in the league standings.

Connecticut won the first matchup on Feb. 1 at Fiserv Forum.

MU hasn’t won on the road at Connecticut in head coach Shaka Smart’s previous three seasons with the program. Though the teams are playing at the on-campus Gampel Pavilion for the first time since the 2020-21 season, a change of scenery won’t benefit the Golden Eagles. The Huskies’ advantage inside will make the difference in a close game.
