Vanderbilt basketball continues to rise in the NCAA tournament projections after picking up Quadrant 1 wins over Texas A&M and Missouri last week.
The Commodores (20-9, 8-8 SEC) are on a three-game winning streak dating back to a 77-72 victory over Ole Miss on Feb. 22. Under first-year coach Mark Byington, they’re hunting for their first March Madness appearance since 2017.
Vanderbilt hosts Arkansas on Tuesday (9 p.m., SEC Network) and travels to Georgia on Saturday (11 a.m., ESPNU) to close out the regular season.
The SEC Tournament will take place March 12-16 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Vanderbilt is currently tied with Mississippi State and Kentucky for eighth in the conference. The top eight seeds will receive a first-round bye.

Vanderbilt basketball NCAA Tournament resume
Vanderbilt’s three-game winning streak has moved it off the bubble and into safe territory. The Commodores are 5-8 in Quadrant 1 games and 4-1 in Quad 2, with no Q3 or Q4 losses. Their win over Texas A&M was their first road Q1 victory.
Vanderbilt is ranked 37th in the NET, 38th in KenPom and 34th in Torvik. The Commodores also have marquee wins over Tennessee and Kentucky.
Vanderbilt basketball poll rankings
Vanderbilt is unranked in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY coaches poll but is receiving votes in both. The Commodores got 78 points in the latest AP poll and 17 points in the coaches poll.
