The stakes are high, and a recent trend looms large.
No. 19/15-ranked Missouri basketball will face Oklahoma at 7 p.m. Wednesday in another road game against an NCAA Tournament bubble team. The previous two ended in narrow losses.
Mizzou (20-8, 10-6 SEC) dropped road games to Arkansas and Vanderbilt in overtime in the past 10 days, giving both much-needed wins for their March Madness résumés. The Tigers, meanwhile, have lost control of their destiny to a top-four seed in the SEC Tournament, and likely need to win their final two regular-season games to secure a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Oklahoma (17-12, 4-12) occupies one of the last four spots into the NCAA field in Joe Lunardi of ESPN’s latest bracket update.
Five games have passed since Mizzou beat Oklahoma 82-58 on Feb. 12 at Mizzou Arena. OU is 1-4 since, including one-score losses to Kentucky, Ole Miss and LSU.
Here is what you need to know about Oklahoma since it last played the Tigers:

What are Oklahoma’s strengths since last Missouri basketball game?
The Sooners’ recent struggles hasn’t been for a lack of scoring.
In that five-game spell, per CBB Analytics, Oklahoma ranks fourth in the SEC for effective field goal percentage (55.3%), fifth in 2-point field goal percentage (55.3%) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (36.9%).
Only Auburn has attempted more free throws per game than OU in that same timespan, as the Sooners are averaging 26.4 shots from the line per game.
Oklahoma scored 84 and 82 points in losses to Ole Miss and Kentucky last week, respectively, and 93 on Mississippi State to claim just its second win in the month of February. The record has not reflected OU’s output on offense.
What are OU’s recent weaknesses?
There’s a reason all those points aren’t translating to wins:…
