Alabama basketball walked away 1-1 last week, but the Crimson Tide still got a much-needed confidence boost in national metrics rankings with No. 5 Florida and No. 1 Auburn coming up.
Defensive ratings jumped for No. 8 Alabama (23-6, 12-4 SEC) after the returning Final Four squad gave up just 73 points to Mississippi State and 79 to Tennessee.
Meanwhile, the offense went unaffected despite its highest-scoring performance of the season against the Bulldogs prior to putting up more than 75 points against Tennessee for the first time in the Nate Oats era.
