No. 1 St. Xavier basketball uses 3-point barrage to top Male in 26th District final

It remains to be seen whether any Kentucky squad can topple the St. Xavier High School basketball team this season, but it’s hard to imagine it happening if the Tigers shoot as well as they did Thursday night.

Led by Chance Dillingham’s five 3-pointers and 18 points, St. X hit 12 of 25 shots from behind the arc on its way to a 68-58 victory over host Male in the 26th District Tournament final.

No. 1-ranked St. X (28-2) ran its winning streak to 17 and remained undefeated this season against Kentucky competition.

The Tigers will host a Seventh Region Tournament quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Jeremiah Jackson (15 points, four assists) and Will Hanke (10 points) also had big games for St. X, which won its second straight district title.

Cole Edelen scored 24 points to lead Male (17-11), which will play on the road Tuesday in a Seventh Region quarterfinal.
