Feb. 28—SAN ANGELO — The UTPB men’s basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 74-67 loss to Angelo State Thursday at the Junell Center.
Needing a victory to clinch a spot in next week’s Lone Star Conference tournament, the Falcons couldn’t hang on to a 33-21 halftime lead.
The Falcons’ season ends at 16-12 overall, 12-10 in LSC.
Angelo State improved to 17-11, 13-9 and clinched a spot in the LSC tournament.
The Falcons were led by Alex Matthews’ 18 points while Maison Adeleye had 16.
Angelo State’s Carvell Teasett had 20 points to lead the Rams.
