It was a wild night in College Park, as No. 8 Michigan State basketball managed to shut down one of the best starting five units in the country to get a huge road win over No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday night. Of course, it took a last second heave from Tre Holloman for the Spartans to escape with a win against a very tough Terrapins squad.
After the game, Tom Izzo spoke to the media to praise his team for a tough-fought victory. You can see what he had to say below.
Tom Izzo’s opening statement on the win

Tom Izzo on Tre Holloman’s final shot
‘The night before a game, that last practice, we have the guys go around and everyone gets a shot at a half-court shot. And the last two games, Tre has made two of them, he’s made one each game… I mean I thought that thing was in when it left, I really did.’
On Maryland
‘I said it, I’ll still say it, I think that’s the best starting five. I think they’re very difficult to guard… If you come up on those guards, you’ve got the short roll for those guys, which they’re very good at… That is a difficult team to prepare for,…
