Clemson basketball injury report vs Notre Dame: Christian Reeves out with ankle injury

CLEMSON — Clemson basketball reserve center Christian Reeves will miss his second straight game on Wednesday.

Reeves is out with an ankle injury again, per Clemson’s availability report, as No. 14 Tigers (22-5, 14-2 ACC) host Notre Dame (12-15, 6-10) on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET, ACC Network) at Littlejohn Coliseum.. He has been a contributor for Clemson off the bench, averaging 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds over 5.1 minutes in 24 games.

Reeves isn’t a featured member in Clemson’s rotation but provides key minutes when center Viktor Lakhin and forward Ian Schieffelin get in foul trouble or need a rest. His absence was felt in Clemson’s last game against SMU when Lakhin, forward Chauncey Wiggins and forward Myles Foster all got in foul trouble in the first half.

Clemson overcame these issues to win on Saturday, but it could face similar troubles against the Irish.

In Reeves’ absence, Lakhin and Schieffelin may play longer minutes than usual. Foster could be in store for more playing time too.

Reeves will be out with freshman guard Ace Buckner and freshman forward Dallas Thomas as both redshirt for the season.
