Ohio State basketball still cracks latest bracketology with double-digit seed

[ad_1]

One could argue that the Ohio State basketball team doesn’t deserve a trip to March Madness; however, USA Today has a different headline, one that includes the Buckeyes.

Ohio State had a recent 21-point home loss to the Northwestern Wildcats, scoring just five points through the first eight minutes of the second half. The Buckeyes had just 49 points on the game.

It was a brutal showing for a side that has competed against many of the best in the conference. With wins over teams like Purdue, Maryland and Kentucky, Ohio State has shown that its ceiling is high.

With its shooting and playmaking from players like John Mobley Jr. and Bruce Thornton, it can compete with some of the best in the country, but it also has a few horrific losses that kill its quality resume.

Nonetheless, USA Today’s Craig Meyer doesn’t have them as a Last Four In, but he has them outright making the NCAA Tournament as a No. 11 seed.

“Ohio State has five Quad 1 wins, but has lost four of six, capped off by a 21-point home loss to Northwestern,” Meyer wrote.

Let’s just say many aren’t convinced that this Ohio State side can compete at the level it showed earlier in the season.

Ohio State is getting whipped around by a Northwestern team missing 2 of their top 3 players.. 😬

We sure this team is tournament level good?

The Buckeyes have some quality battles still on their resume, and if they can win out, they certainly will have a shot at the tournament. They will also have the Big Ten Tournament to really show some potential.

That could make or break the Buckeyes season as a deep run could save this side from the NIT.
