Texas A&M men’s basketball suffered its first February defeat in Tuesday. The Aggies, riding a five-game winning streak, entered Starkville, Miss., and suffered a disappointing 16-point loss to Mississippi State.

Now, No. 7 A&M hosts No. 6 Tennessee (11 a.m., ESPN) and will try to take the lone matchup between these two near-locks for the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies (20-6, 9-4) have struggled offensively for much of the season, and the 54-point total against the Bulldogs was their worst showing of the season. Saturday, A&M welcomes a Tennessee (21-5, 8-5) team that boasts the SEC top defense in several categories, including points allowed per game. The Volunteers enter the matchup 4-2 in their last six outings, including an 81-76 win Sunday over Vanderbilt.

The Volunteers handed the Aggies an 86-51 loss the last time the two programs met in 2024, with A&M winning the early-season matchup 85-69.
