Searching for its second straight home win, Colorado men’s basketball will host the Baylor Bears early Saturday afternoon.
Head coach Tad Boyle’s Buffs followed up their first Big 12 victory of the season last Saturday with a disappointing 79-65 loss at Iowa State on Tuesday. With only five regular season matchups left including Baylor, the Buffs are 10-16 overall and alone at the bottom of the Big 12 standings at 1-14.
Colorado’s 2024-25 season has obviously been disappointing, but youngsters Bangot Dak and Sebastian Rancik are reasons for optimism. The sophomore Dak averages 8.0 points per game and a team-high 1.5 blocks while the freshman Rancik is averaging 8.5 points in February.
Particularly in conference play, Baylor (16-10, 8-7 Big 12) has been hindered by inconsistency. The Bears haven’t won consecutive games since January but are still well-positioned to reach the NCAA Tournament under longtime head coach Scott Drew.
Forward Norchad Omier leads the Bears in points per game (15.7), rebounding (10.3) and blocks (1.0).
Tipoff from the CU Events Center in Boulder is set for 2 p.m. MT on ESPN+.
