As March nears, which players from Final Four run are missing for Alabama basketball?

Some of the contributors that Alabama basketball had for last season’s Final Four run could come in handy right about now.

Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Nate Oats put together one of the deepest rosters in college basketball, and one of the best in program history for the Crimson Tide.

Yet, as Kentucky approaches with Mississippi State, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn still to go, fans still find themselves missing Latrell Wrightsell Jr., wishing that Derrion Reid was at 100%, or even pining after formers who opted for the transfer portal.

The Crimson Tide lost seven total players from the 2023-24 season, including Kris Parker who spent his true freshman season redshirted prior to making way for Villanova.

Here are some names that Alabama (21-5, 10-3 SEC) had this time last year, what they contributed, and where they are now.

Aaron Estrada, guard

Now: Motor City Cruise − NBA G League affiliate of Detroit Pistons

Estrada ran out of college eligibility, but now he’s hooping in the G League. The one-year member of the Crimson Tide signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons in October after going undrafted in June. He’s still a proven playmaker at the next level, averaging 3.9 assists per game after putting up 4.6 per contest alongside All-American Mark Sears last season.

Davin Cosby, guard

Now: Wake Forest

Only a freshman last season, Cosby only averaged about eight minutes per game for Alabama. At Wake Forest, his time on the court has almost doubled, and he’s made nine starts. Alas, his average 5.6 points…
