Where Clemson basketball stands in updated March Madness bracket predictions after FSU win

[ad_1]

CLEMSON — Barring a late-season collapse, Clemson basketball will make the NCAA tournament in back-to-back seasons for the first time under coach Brad Brownell.

The No. 17 Tigers (21-5, 13-2 ACC) are tied for second in the ACC standings after dominating Florida State on Saturday. This win came after upsetting then-No. 2 Duke and routing North Carolina. These wins have propelled Clemson’s seeding in the latest March Madness projections.

Clemson looks to enhance its résumé in its final five regular-season games, starting with SMU (19-6, 10-4) on Saturday (4 p.m. ET, ACC Network) at Moody Coliseum. This will be a Quadrant 1 contest for the Tigers, and they are 3-2 in those games this season.

Here’s how Clemson’s résumé looks and where the Tigers sit in the latest March Madness projection.

Clemson basketball March Madness bracket projections

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has the Tigers as a No. 6 seed, a one-spot climb, in the West Region. He has Clemson facing No. 11 Vanderbilt. The winner would face the winner of No. 3 Purdue vs. No. 14 Jacksonville State.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has Clemson as a No. 6 seed, too, but in the East Region. He projects the Tigers will face the winner of a First Four game between No. 11 Texas and No. 11 BYU. The winner would face No. 3 Michigan or No. 14 Lipscomb in the second round.

Lunardi and Palm both have four ACC teams making the tournament (Duke, Clemson, Louisville, Wake Forest).
