Florida basketball and Oklahoma will meet for the first time as SEC opponents when UF hosts the Sooners on Tuesday night.
The No. 2 Florida Gators (22-3, 9-3 SEC) have won four straight and are coming off an 88-67 win Saturday at home against South Carolina.
Six UF players have scored 20 or more points in a game this season, including reserve forward Thomas Haugh and backup guard Thomas Haugh, who have been pressed into starting duty due to injuries to forward Alex Condon, guard Walter Clayton Jr. and guard Alijah Martin this month. Condon is still out with a sprained ankle.
“We all love playing for each other,” Florida senior guard Will Richard said. “We’re all playing to win. It doesn’t matter who gets the credit. We just want to win games.”
Oklahoma (16-9, 3-9 SEC) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak. The Sooners are led by senior forward Jalon Moore (17.2 ppg) and freshman point guard Jeremiah Fears (15.2 ppg, 3.8 apg).
Florida is 2-3 all-time against Oklahoma. This is the schools’ first meeting in Gainesville.
Florida basketball injury update
